I do love coffee, but I also love these Assam black tea blends. Especially for late afternoon or evening. My favorites are Black Cherry and Blood Orange. When entertaining guests, I usually serve English Breakfast or Earl Grey, but these Noir blends are reserved for my own private selection.
This tea has a wonderfully complex flavor, the chocolate notes are subtle but aromatic. Half od my enjoyment is holding the warm cup in my hand and letting the smell just waft over me. I was unsure if this combo would be good, as rose can be difficult to pair with at times (some rose teas are just terrible!), but it turned out to be my favorite from the noir collection. Of the dark teas, this is No. 1 on my list 100%! A tiny bit of sugar also lifts the chocolatey notes to another level and the rose is not overpowering at all, but definitely there. The floral hints are heavenly. I will definitely be making a pearl tea out of this one as well.
