I just received the Wildflower Honey Citrus loose leaf tea canister as part of Tea Forté’s New York Botanical Garden collection. Breathing in the aroma from this tea was like inhaling a deep breath of spring! I had high hopes when I chose this as my first blend to sample from the collection, and this tea actually exceeded my expectations. I didn’t feel the need to add any sweetener, as the mellow warmth of honey in this blend provided the perfect hint of sweetness. The citrus is not at all overpowering and provided a wonderfully fresh counterpoint to the honey’s warmth. Along with Tea Forté’s jasmine tea, this is now one of my favorite green tea blends!
This tea has such an interesting blend of flavors and I love that they all work off of each other perfectly without any one flavor being overpowering. In particular I was worried about the citrus, since it is quite easy for that to take over, but glad it was not the case. Aside from the flavor, I was just energized and in a general good spirit after drinking this. I don't know if that came from the tea itself or just from my enjoyment of it, but that is always a welcome side effect.
This is a lovely green tea. I really enjoy citrus teas and the orange flavor is really wonderful. The wildflower honey seemed to temper the "green" in the tea and really won over this reluctant green tea drinker. I look forward to trying more green tea flavors soon because this is the first one I have really enjoyed.
Green teas are not my cup of tea. That is, not until I had Tea Forte’s Wildflower Honey Citrus tea. This tea amazes the taste buds - it has a faint sweet honey taste without being outright sweet or too honey tasting, and the citrus is beautifully balanced to give the green tea a light lift, which takes away from the greenish taste you usually get in a green tea. Overall, this tea has a pleasing freshness. I give it a resounding Yes, please!
