Tea Forté’s Ginger Matcha introduces the warm zing of ginger to the healthy richness of spring-harvested, shade-grown, stone-ground green tea. This blend pairs the unique, earthy flavor of matcha with an unexpected partner known for calming the throat and stomach while delighting the senses with a zesty kick.

Stronger when prepared with water and more subtle when prepared with frothed milk, this matcha blend opens on a lush, tropical note and melts into a vibrant green tonic as it swirls across the tongue. The enjoyment isn’t complete without a deep inhalation of its aroma before each sip. Its tangy, tropical fragrance heightens the zing of the ginger and brings out the bright green character of the matcha powder, resulting in an exceptional tea experience.

Because matcha is made from green tea leaves, it offers a wealth of health benefits as well as a steep sense of history. This ancient green tea powder dates back to the Tang Dynasty in China, when it was dried into bricks which people would break into small pieces and stir into hot water for an energy-boosting natural beverage. The father of Zen Buddhism introduced matcha to Japan in the 12th century, and it was incorporated into traditional Japanese matcha ceremonies over the generations that followed, first only among the elite classes and later among the rest of society. Today, matcha is enjoyed everywhere for its emerald-green hue, its distinct flavor, and its antioxidant-rich properties, which are thought to promote good health.

For hot matcha, blend one Matcha Single Steeps® (or 1 teaspoon) into 3.5 ounces of near-boiling water. Whisk thoroughly until rich and foamy. For best results, use a traditional bamboo whisk or frother.

For a matcha latté, blend one Matcha Single Steeps® (or 1 teaspoon) into 3.5 ounces of warm milk. Thoroughly mix with frother until tea becomes rich and foamy.

For iced matcha or an iced matcha latte, blend one Matcha Single Steeps® (or 1 teaspoon) into 3.5 ounces of cool water (or milk for a latte). Mix thoroughly and add ice. For best results, use a traditional bamboo whisk or frother.

My Daily Treat!

I have loved matcha since a wonderful trip to Japan, and I have tried to find a matcha that matches that. This is it!
