About Earl Grey Tea

Tea Type : Black Tea

Tea Forté Earl Grey is an exceptional blend of stunningly superb Organic Assam tea leaves infused with cold-pressed Italian Bergamot oil from the citrus fruit grown in Calabria, Italy. Considered to be one of the most popular teas in the West, and likely the most popular flavored tea in the world, we’ve made this an even greater grey with a sprinkling of organic cornflowers to create a rich, full-bodied cup for those who enjoy their tea with milk for the perfect classic.

The natural citrus oil is pressed from the peel of the Bergamot citrus fruit and gives Earl Grey its distinctive taste and aroma. Bergamot is a small citrus fruit with a protruding nub like a navel orange. Earl Grey tea is flavored with oil made from bergamot peel, and has a distinctive taste loved by many. Earl Grey tea is named after Charles Grey, the 2nd Earl Grey and Prime Minister of England from 1830-1834. Legend has it that he received bergamot flavored tea as a gift after one of his men had rescued the son of a Chinese mandarin from drowning.

Earl Grey is a classic English tea time treat. Traditionally it is served with twist of lemon or a bit of sugar. However, it can also be taken with a touch of milk and honey (just remember, milk and lemon together will curdle!). Earl Grey is equally well suited for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or anytime that a warming cup would satisfy.

      Best Earl Grey

Simply the best loose leaf Earl Grey. Very consistent quality from purchase to purchase. I buy it by the pound. After it is shipped to me, I immediately open the original package and empty the contents into 2 one quart mason jars and hand tighten the seals. Stays fresh that way.

      Best Buy

Since my go to tea first thing in the morning is Earl Grey, this was an excellent choice to buy in bulk. Can the turmeric chai be purchased in bulk as well? It is my go to bedtime tea in making Golden Milk using oat milk. Yum!

      Superb Earl Grey!

After trying the Earl Grey in the canister, I decided to stock up and buy the 1 pound bag. I saved the canister to use with the bag. This is the absolute best Earl Grey I've ever tasted. Beautiful floral notes and robust tea flavor.

Lovely, but the bergamot is a bit too strong.

I combine English Breakfast and Earl Grey to level out the bergamot.
