I have to begin this review by saying that I love Tea Forte teas; they offer a wonderful variety and the tea is great quality. My disappointment is with this specific tea chest and the pyramid infusers. When I opened the tea chest, before even removing the plastic covering, there was an overwhelming scent of orange and quince that overpowered all of the tea. I removed the blood orange and quince tea pyramids, which seemed to help a bit, but the orange flavor has permeated all of the other tea. I think the pyramids look lovely, but are not functional. If I were to get a sample box again, I would stick to the single steeps, but as I have also had trouble with the single steeps collections, I will probably just stick with the loose leaf canisters. I also need to add that I got the last two collections because I wanted 2 specific flavors that aren't available in the loose leaf canisters, so would love to see Rum Raisin Biscotti and Vanilla Peach for sale outside of the samples boxes, or in boxes of their own.
My husband and I gave our pastor this varied assortment of Tea Forte' black teas for Christmas. He loved it! The tea chest traveled home with him to spend the holidays with his " tea drinking family". much to his delight ( and chagrin, I think ) they also loved the bold taste and interesting assortment of black teas. When he returned from his trip home, his tea was mostly gone, but his memories of sharing it with his family in festive and relaxing settings remains.
