This is one my favorite teas to come from Tea Forte. It is so flavorful and delicious; I love the honey flavor paired with the exotic yuzu. However, I can see how one might not like it. It has a stronger flavor and maybe with the right (or wrong in this case) palette, I can see this giving off maybe a soapy taste. But to me it is absolutely delicious. So far I have just had the single steeps but I will be ordering the large canister of loose leaf for this one. I find myself really craving this tea!
Taste and smells awful. 😦
I love this tea! I can't wait to get up in the morning and have a cup:) It has a distinctive flavor that I have not found with any other tea.
I have been buying the honey yuzu tea continuously for the last couple of years, and I love it with cream and touch of sugar, my favourite for all seasons.....it definitely is an aquired taste and I drink this every day, if I could suggest, I would even like more of the honey added if possible....thanks for my great tea...
I got this in the Skin Smart sampler and it was by far the worst tea I've ever had. First off, just opening the packet gave off this overwhelming citrus smell with this sickeningly-sweet artificial honey smell that was downright nauseating. It reminded me of some citrus-y mosquito repellant. I took two sips of it before pouring it down the sink because it was just so unpleasant. The smell wouldn't leave the room even after the tea was gone and it gave me a headache.
I got the "Single Steeps" box for Christmas and this was the first one that I tried. I chose it because I usually love citrus teas. I guess I wasn't expecting something quite so perfume-y . At first I couldn't place the smell, but it really is quite distinctive. Hopefully this was worst of the box and I was just unlucky.
I'm sure there are people out there that love this tea and drink it religiously... Unfortunately, I am not one of them. I found the flavor a bit bitter and no matter how many times I tried to like it, it just didn't work out for me.
Like everything addictive you love it or you hate it. I love it love it love it. I sip it With a pleasure and then I eat every leaf brewed, so there is nothing left. I love the taste, the exotic fragrance and the energy it gives me, makes me feel high... This tea is the reason I have created an account just to leave this review here. I am talking only regarding loose tea.
This is my favourite tea since I try it for three years ago. I enjoy it deeply. My friends have been delighted each time I invite them with Honey Yuzu. I have bought as present for some of my friends. It is highly recomended.
Overall I found this tea to be light and refreshing. I used less leaves and steeped it quickly for a light, flowery, subtle green tea. I may play with different methods... while I liked it, I can see how others may find it cloying. I will likely use it as a base for iced tea by adding fruit or other flavors.
This is one of my all time favorite teas. I use a double walled tall glass and let the tea infuse for about five minutes. The trick is to use very little tea or it gets too bitter. The smell of the yuzu is intoxicating. I have to have it everyday. Please never discontinue this tea.
I love this tea! The flavor is complex and assertive without any bitterness. Wonderful!
I drink my tea without anything added - always, and I don't like fruity teas. I was curious about this tea and expected it to be honey-hued, almost syrupy in taste but it was not at all! (I do like honey) It was light and refreshing! I am buying more and will use in as an alternative to mint tea that I need a lift. I drank this at work when I needed to take a deep breath and power forward. I really liked the citron flavor. I did not find it to be bitter but I did not brew it for a full 3 minutes and I made sure the temperature was appropriate for a green tea. Nice!
This tea was a huge disappointment. Steeping according to the instructions leaves you with a cloyingly sweet smelling tea, with a hugely bitter aftertaste. I found that I could drink a cup if I steeped it for less than 30 seconds - any longer and it was completely unpalatable. Adding sweeteners really did not help - just made the juxtaposition between the sweet smell and bitter taste even more noticeable. I won't be purchasing another tin of this and am trying to slog my way through the tin I already have - I hate wasting food!
This tea is absolutely disgusting! First off, it smelled terrible as soon as I opened the package. Then it smelled just as bad while steeping. I was nervous tasting this tea because I could barely get past the smell. This tea smells and tastes like hairspray. I got this as a set with the rest of the skin-smart teas (all of which I loved), but this one is repulsing! DO NOT BUY THIS TEA!!!
I was so excited to get my new tea in the mail, but when i opened the pouch i was repulsed. i continued to make the tea to try it out but i couldn't even take more than a sip. The smell was awful and the taste was even worse. I am a huge fan of the tea forte green teas, so i thought this would be perfect. I'm extremely disappointed that i wasted my money on this.
I have LOVED every tea that I have tried from Tea Forte so far until I ordered this one. A horrible smell permeates the room from the loose leaf tea itself even before it is brewed. The taste is a little less abrasive, but it is just over all gross. I wanted to like it for the health benefits, but just could not. I would stay away from it. The cucumber mint, white ginger pear, ginger lemongrass, jasmine green, Moroccan mint, and winter chai are some of my favorites....go with them instead.
Just got my free sample of this tea in the mail and am sitting here now sipping on it and it is very refreshing. Will buy this flavor and cant wait to try the other samples I received. Want to try the Coconut flavor.
Hopefully the Skin-smart line isn't anyone's introduction to Tea Forte teas as the whole collection ranges from just plain bad to absolutely undrinkable and Honey Yuzu is the worst of the five. Tea Forte I feel offers some of the best of the best when the brand gets it right, but it gets nothing wright about this one. With no subtlety and nuance it's just a loud and bizarre mess that comes across as almost chemical. The flavor was so unnatural it lingered painfully in my nostrils long after I moved on to drinking a much better tea. Hideous.
I just tried a sample of this honey yuzu tea. It was really great I will be ordering again.
This is a lovely tea I tried at ColdWater Creek Spa. It's a flavorful, distinct tea. Not mild or watery. I loved it so much that I bought a pack at the spa immediately. I am buying the tea system and loose tea now. A feel good, soothing, tastes like summer in wintertime tea. Highly recommend.
The flavor of Honey Yuzu does not seem stronger to me than my other two favorites, Lychee Coconut and Cherry Marzipan. All three are delightfully distinctive and quite flavorful.
I expected this tea to be soft and flowery, since so many Tea Forte flavors are just plain lovely. But the honey scent and flavor were so overpowering that the green tea was lost. I've made a few more pots, still trying to like it, but it just doesn't taste good. I would stay away from this one if you truly love green tea.
On opening the loose tea canister I was hit with a strong scent of honey, not in a pleasant way but rather astringent. The odd scent overpowers the green tea completely! The brewed cup is just as bad - if not more so because the awful aroma now fills the room. I bought this based on a another review which said the scent seemed floral. Since most Tea Forte teas have that light scent, I assumed that this would be the same. I would not recommend this tea.
I'm starting to get into loose leaf teas and this was the first flavor I bought from Tea Forte. I wanted a basic, minimally flavored green tea for my first one. Initially when I tasted this, I thought it was very floral and I didn't like it. This is not a weak tasting tea. It definitely grew on me and I drink it every day now. I love the scent when I open the can...the citrus hint is a great way to start my morning. And having picked this from the green tea section of the site, it is a plus knowing that it is also one of the skin smart flavors.
