About Orchid Vanilla Tea

Tea Forté Orchid Vanilla black tea is harvested from the foothills along the border of Laos and Myanmar (Burma) in the Yunnan Province which is recognized for its ideal tea growing conditions: red, fertile soil, a misty and humid climate and a constant average year round temperature. It is reputed as offering among the best of China’s black teas, known for its delicate leaves and number of buds. This smooth, medium bodied, black tea is married with sweet vanilla from Madagascar, an island off the east coast of Africa known for the producing the highest quality vanilla in the world. The coconut pieces add a touch of tropical flavor that finish off this sought after black tea.

Ingredients and certifications may differ slightly between our pyramid infusers, loose tea pouch, and loose tea canisters for this blend, see package for details.

Steeping instructions

1. Heat water to 208˚F.
2. Place tea in cup and pour water over the leaves.
3. Steep for 3-5 minutes.
4. Enjoy!

For loose leaf iced teas, use 2 tsp per 8oz glass.

still my favourite tea

This was the original tea that introduced me to Tea Forte and after trying several of the others, it is still the best. Somehow, I found it tastes better in the cafe paired with a full breakfast, that is where it really shines. But it is still good on its own, or with a simple sandwich.

Good balance.

This tea has a good balance of vanilla and tea. Sometimes the vanilla can be cloyingly sweet, but this has a gentle flavor that enhances the black tea essence. I like this tea in the morning as well as a dessert after dinner.

I really wanted to love this tea. I thought it sounded like an excellent cup to snuggle up with in winter. It is rich. And who doesn’t love vanilla? But, for me, the flavor is cloying. Even the smell doesn’t make me want to drink it. I don’t think that’s the vanilla, but whatever it is they’ve described as “orchid”. I’m not sure. But I won’t be buying it again. It’s not bad. I just don’t love it.
