Steep for 5 minutes, 208°F
For stronger flavor, steep longer.
For loose leaf herbal iced teas, use 3 tsp per 8oz glass and double the steep time.
Did You Know?
Our tea is made from the husks of cacao seeds that are leftover from the chocolate making process. These husks contain a hint of the chocolate flavors once inside, but do not retain measurable quantities of caffeine or the other bitter flavors of pure cacao.
Tea type: Herbal tea
Indulge yourself in the rich flavor palette of Tea Forté Coco Truffle, one of our finest herbal coco teas. The organic cacao shells impart a natural chocolate flavor to this infusion which is enhanced with additional natural chocolate flavoring. Organic fennel, organic cardamom, organic cloves provide spicy depth to the infusion and impart an intriguing character. We have added a touch of cinnamon and organic licorice root to create a natural sweetness to the tea and to add depth of character
In traditional Chinese medicine, cinnamon is used for colds, to aid digestion, and lower cholesterol. It’s also believed to improve vitality, energy and circulation.
Licorice root has an impressive list of well documented uses and is probably one of the most over-looked of all herbal remedies; it is used for many common ailments including tiredness, asthma, colds and flu.

This was your best tea and its now gone :( Please bring it back...
This is by far my favorite tea offer by Tea Forte! I used to love buying it in loose tea. Now even the bags individual are unavailable. Additionally the chatter seems to suggest that it will be discontinued in the future. This tea has a warm rich body. It reminds you of gourmet hot chocolate. They type that is rich as real chocolate should be, but smooth without bitter undertones. This tea has a natural touch of vanilla and cardamom giving it a natural sweetness with light seasoned undertones. Many people I have shared this tea with love it on a cold winter night or as a special afternoon treat.
I love this blend, but may not be able to get it anymore. It has been unavailable for several weeks now, and I am told Tea Forte may not offer it going forward. If you love Coco Truffle, speak up, please! African Solstice introduced me to Tea Forte, but Coco Truffle is by far my favorite.
I originally tried this tea as part of the Dolce Vita set. I can't believe that I'm drinking tea and not hot chocolate and that it's calorie free! This is my new favorite tea to drink early in the morning and in the evening. I must have had five or six cups last Sunday. My friends loved it too.
Herbal tea that has a full rich taste. Please offer in a larger size.
Let it steep well for 5 minutes. There's a deep after-taste to this one. Very coco-truffly. My favorite; I only come back to this site for this, and am willing to try out other teas because of this.
I got a box of Tea Forte teas and the Coco Truffle was my last choice to sample. It just doesn't sound right to have a chocolate flavored tea. But I tried it and love it. I am trying to watch my caloric intake. This is almost like a hot chocolate without the sweetness and calories. Now I'm reading the reviews here and realized it's not available in the one pound pouch. I agree that the single infusers are too expensive and wasteful plus I bought a Kati single brew cup and want to be able to use it with loose leaf tea.
This is my favorite Herbal tea. It is a big disappointment, however, that you can't buy it in a canister or even a 1 lb bag as you can with the African Solstice.
This tea is very tasty and similar to the coconut chocolate truffle black tea. I drink the black tea during the day and switch to this one in late afternoon or evening. As some reviewers have said, the flavor isn't as strong but that works well for me since I don't want a lot of caffeine or an over-powering flavor at night. It can be steeped a little longer than some other herbal teas to add extra flavor. A small dash of coconut milk makes this into the perfect dessert tea! I also would like to see this tea offered in loose canisters.
I have enough loose tea left for maybe two cups of Coco Truffle herbal tea. Of the caffeine free teas, it is by far my favorite. However, I will not be purchasing the pyramid infusers. They are much too expensive. From Tea Forte - We will be bringing in Coco Truffle in Loose Tea Pouches - July 2012.
I found the chocolate tea to be bland not a deeply rich chocolate flavor as described. However, I do tend to prefer black teas with stronger flavors. I would have returned for an exchange but the box had been opened. I will be passing on to friends who enjoy milder taste.
Can you PLEASE provide in a loose leaf canister!
Coco Truffle is one of my favorites!!! I add a touch of honey and it hits the spot. The perfect tea to wind down the evening. WONDERFUL
I experienced forte tea for the first time when on a date with my husband at our favorite restaurant. The Coco Truffle totally blew me away, this tea flavor is truly a delight to my sense of smell & taste. The aroma was enveloping, the taste truly chocolate, simply put, it was THE BEST way to cap off a wonderful dining experience with my best guy. Forte tea, I will definitely seek out locations in my area where I can purchase some for myself and to give as gifts, especially the Coco Truffle.
This is a wonderfully delicious tea. Unlike most other companies, which simply add chocolate chips to black tea, this herbal tea has a rich, chocolate taste -- without caffeine -- that makes it appropriate any time of day. It's especially well suited for people who may be lactose-intolerant: a well-steeped cup of this with a splash of soy, rice, almond or coconut milk and a touch of sweetener makes a good stand-in for hot chocolate. Sadly, Tea Forte is discontinuing the loose tea. I've stocked up, but I'm disappointed it will only be available in the individual infuser form -- it's much more expensive and wasteful, particularly when you want to make multiple cups. Nonetheless, it is a great tea -- I recommend buying the loose tea canister while you still can!
"It’s lively, and the very aroma is indulgent. I only recommend serving this one hot, but if you love chocolate, you will love this tea no matter how you serve it."
Read the full detailed review at: www.teareviewblog.com
I received this tea at a Wedding Shower Tea Luncheon. It is truly one of the best teas I have ever had. They gave an assortment of teas as favors at the tables. I brought my home and could not imagine a "dessert tea". I am hooked. This is on my list to buy for myself and as a special gift for friends and family!
