I am a super tea drinker. I recently purchased this tea (2 Boxes) and it would not steep. I am going to assume it is because I am receiving old or expired tea leaves. I am paying a lot of money for this tea and there is no reason why the tea should not change the color of my water and steep properly. When I brought this to the attention of Tea Forte, they asked me to return the teas. I am sorry, I do not have the time to put together and return something I already spent the time to purchase. The onus is not on me to prove the product is not up to standard. Tea Forte needs to improve quality control. Because of this, I cannot recommend this tea.
I just did not appreciate the flavor of this tea. It is my fault that I did not make a decision by reading the tasting notes, which clearly describe the Sencha Tea on the Tea Forte site. I chose the tea by the processing explanation which stated "Pan Fired", leading me to wishful thinking. I was hoping for a flavor with toasty sweet notes. The folks at Tea Forte kindly accommodated me with my current Tea Forte Green Tea favorite "Jasmine Green".
I like to drink a variety of teas: (black, green, oolong, rooibos and herbal). After trying a few Single Steeps collections and reading reviews, I chose this as one of my green tea options. For some reason, this tea tasted better in the Single Steeps packaging than it does in the canister. While I enjoy drinking it, there are other teas I would choose over this one.
